Open Wednesday to Sunday, including all Bank Holidays
Opening hours:
1:00pm – 4:30pm
The museum closes after 29 October for the winter months. However, we can open by appointment for family history research.
Group visits can also be arranged outside advertised opening hours by prior appointment.
Admission Fees
Admission
Admission for under-18s is free.
Standard admission for adults is £4.50 per person.
Adult admission with Gift Aid is £5.00 per person.
Join Friends of the Museum
Annual subscription £12.50 per person, which includes free entry to the museum for a year.

Find us beside the A689, between Stanhope and Alston, at the centre of the North Pennines. We are only an hour by car from Tyneside, Teesside, and the Lake District.
